Open and close your shop

The Open and Closed switch, and what closing does.

Customers see whether you are open right now. Open the shop when you start, close it when you finish. The owner or a manager opens and closes the shop; a barber sees whether it is open.

Open

On the website

  1. Go to Chairs.
  2. Tap Open at the top right.

In the app

  1. Go to the Dashboard tab.
  2. Turn on the switch next to Closed. It now says Open.

The chairs and the line start at zero, and you can count from there. A closed shop counts nobody: + does nothing until you open.

Close

On the website

  1. Go to Chairs.
  2. Tap Closed.
  3. If somebody is still in a chair or in the line, TrimBrim asks first. Tap Close shop.

In the app

  1. Go to the Dashboard tab.
  2. Turn off the switch next to Open.
  3. If somebody is still in a chair or in the line, TrimBrim asks first. Tap Close the shop.

The same switch is also in More → Availability, as Taking customers.

Closing clears the chairs and the line, and completes the visits still open.

Tip Close the shop every night. Otherwise customers see you as open with chairs free, and walk up to a closed door.
