Accept or reject a booking

Customers ask for a slot. You answer, and they are told.

A booking is a customer asking for a time. It does not hold a chair: when they arrive, tap + as usual.

Answer a request

On the website

  1. Go to Bookings. New requests are under Requests, and the number next to Bookings in the menu is how many are waiting.
  2. Tap Accept or Reject. The customer is told either way.
  3. Rejecting? Add a line on why. It helps them pick another time.

Each request shows the amount to collect and how far away it was made from, like Booked from 1.2 km away.

In the app

  1. Go to the Bookings tab. Requests shows every request still waiting; the number is on the chip and on the tab.
  2. Tap Accept on the row, or tap the request to open it first. The customer is told either way.
  3. It shows what to collect, how far away it was made from, and the customer's missed bookings and late cancels.
  4. Rejecting? Open it, tap Reject, add a line on why, then tap Reject. It helps them pick another time.

The day's diary

On the website

Switch to Diary to see the day's bookings. When the customer comes, tap + on Chairs and pick their booking on the visit; the booking then shows Came in. If they do not come, tap Did not come.

In the app

Tap Booked for what is booked in the period you pick, and Cancelled for the ones that fell through. Search by name, number or booking #. When the customer comes, tap Customer sat down on Seats, tap their chair and pick their booking under From a booking; the booking then shows Seated. If they do not come, open the booking once its time has passed and tap Didn’t come.

Turn bookings on or off

On the website

Go to Shop settings → Bookings:

  • Take bookings — off means customers see they can only walk in.
  • Minimum notice — how far ahead a slot must be asked for.
  • Last booking before closing — so nobody books the last ten minutes.

In the app

Tap Settings at the top of the Bookings tab, or go to More → Booking settings, then tap Save:

  • The Taking bookings switch — off means customers see they can only walk in.
  • Last booking before closing — so nobody books the last ten minutes.
  • Minimum notice — how far ahead a slot must be asked for.

The Taking bookings switch is also on the Dashboard.
