Free chairs and the waiting number
What the two numbers on a shop mean, how fresh they are, and why a shop shows Closed.
Every open shop shows two numbers, kept by the shop itself.
Chairs free
How many chairs are empty right now, out of the shop's total. The barber taps + when somebody sits down and − when they get up, and your screen updates while it is open.
- 3 of 4 chairs free — walk in, a chair is waiting.
- Full or All chairs taken — every chair is busy.
Waiting
How many people are already at the shop waiting for a chair. It is always shown, even when it is 0 waiting. When every chair is busy, the shop page says how many will be ahead of you if you walk in now.
There is no line to join in the app. The waiting number is the shop's own count of the people in the room. It is a good guide, not a promise.
How fresh is it?
On the shop page, under the numbers:
- A live dot with from the shop and a time means the number is current.
- Updated and a time means the shop has not touched it for a while. Treat it with care, or tap Call to check.
When a shop shows Closed
- Closed — outside its opening hours. The card says when it opens next, for example Opens tomorrow at 9 AM.
- On break — a break in the day, with the time it is back.
- Closed for now — the hours say open, but the shop has switched itself off. It counts nobody until it opens again.
A closed shop shows no chair count, so an old number never looks live.
