Notifications and privacy
What the app sends you, how to switch it off, and what TrimBrim keeps about you.
Your notifications
Tap the bell on Home, or go to Profile → Notifications. Everything the app sends you is listed there, even if notifications are off on your phone.
What you can switch off
In Notifications, tap the settings button at the top right to open Notification settings. Two things have a switch:
- Saved shops opening and closing — a shop you saved opens or closes, with the number of free chairs.
- Offers and reminders from shops you have been to — only a shop that has recorded a visit for you can send one. An offer at most once a week, and a "time for a trim?" at most once a fortnight. A shop you have never sat down in cannot reach you at all.
Everything else is an answer to something you did, like a booking you asked for, and it is not switched off here. Whatever you turn off stops arriving altogether.
Tip If Notifications are off on this phone shows, tap Open phone settings and allow notifications for TrimBrim.
Your location
Location is used while the app is open, to sort shops by distance. TrimBrim keeps your last position and city so the list opens on your area next time, not a history of where you have been. You can skip the permission and choose a city instead.
What TrimBrim keeps
Your name, and the email you signed up with. Your phone number if you add it. The shops you save. The visits a shop records when you sit down: the shop, the date and what you had done.
TrimBrim does not sell your details, and shows no ads from anyone but the shops themselves.
Read it all under Profile → Privacy & security, including the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
